Dirty Work’s Cheeky yet Poignant new work “Beat Cancer Off” Lands David Reviews Spotlight

Lemonade-repped animation powerhouse Dirty Work has done it again with a new spot raising awareness and prevention for prostate cancer. Dirty Work brought its distinctive animation craft to “Beat Cancer Off”, a bold and brilliantly irreverent new campaign created by VML Health NY for nonprofit organisation Fuck Cancer.

Developed in collaboration with production partner Jamute, the spot confronts prostate cancer awareness with an unapologetically playful tone - using humour, energy and a heavy helping of innuendo to deliver a message that’s as attention-grabbing as it is important.

At its core, the campaign is about sparking conversation. While rooted in emerging discussions around lifestyle and prostate cancer risk, the message is clear: this is about awareness, not guarantees - encouraging men to speak to their doctors and take appropriate screening seriously.

Rendered through a fast-paced mix of animation styles, the film acts as a showcase for Dirty Work’s versatility, shifting seamlessly between visual approaches while maintaining a cohesive, high-impact aesthetic. It’s a confident demonstration of the studio’s ability to balance craft with comedy, landing something that feels both entertaining and purposeful.

The campaign is already gaining traction across the industry, with coverage from LBB and RoastBrief, alongside a standout 5-star feature on David Reviews - praising the spot’s bold creative approach and unmistakable tone.

The project reflects Dirty Work’s ongoing commitment to pushing boundaries in animated storytelling - bringing together sharp conceptual thinking, eclectic visual styles and a fearless sense of humour. It’s a studio that consistently leans into the unexpected, proving that even the most sensitive subjects can be handled with wit, authenticity and creative flair.
